First Impressions: Physicians Formula Eye Booster Pen & Lash Out Butterfly Mascara

Yesterday I cracked open my new Physicians Formula Eye Booster Eyeliner as well as the L'Oreal Voluminous Butterfly Mascara. So here we go, first impressions time!!

Physicians Formula Eye Booster Lash Enhancing Eyeliner- It is said to improve the look of lashes, has all day wear, is smudge proof and easy to apply. I did find that all of these were very true. Especially application. There was no tugging and the point is fine enough to get my perfect wing. The only gripe I have with this product is pigmentation and shine. It is no where near as dark as I would like it to be and does not set matte. My Stila Stay All Day liquid liner still wins out in that arena. In order to deepen the color and mattify, I used the Black from my Lorac Pro Palette.

Overall, I'd say this is a decent liner. But for $11, I'd rather spend a few extra dollars on my tried and true Stila Stay All Day Liquid Liner

Next up, the L'Oreal Voluminous Butterfly Mascara - supposed volumize and lengthen (or 'stretch') your lashes up and out (like butterfly wings, get it?); this mascara uses it's innovative wand shape to grab your lashes and extend them outwards. Only half of the wand has this 'butterfly shape', the other half is a more traditional plastic wand.

Overall, I found this to be a very wet formula, similar to Maybelline's The Rocket. The wing shape took some getting used to, and I won't lie, I had a near blinding incident. But it did a pretty good job separating. I did notice a little flaking towards the end of the day, but nothing I was up in arms about. I definitely wasn't 'wowed' by it, but it wasn't bad either. A good addition to the lash arsenal. I'm hoping I'll find it a little more exciting after it dries out a bit.
