Use What's in Your Freezer!

Last night, spaghetti was on the menu. So I decided to try and use some ground beef from the freezer and attempt meatballs. I have never attempted to make meatballs before, I didn't look at any recipes and just made it up as I went along. The best way to cook, obviously.

I started by setting the oven to 400 degrees. After the meat was dethawed, I put it in a glass bowl, added 1 egg, garlic powder, minced onion, oregano, basil leaves and grated in some asiago cheese. I kind of eyeballed the ingredients…very professional!

Then came the fun part, mixing it all together!

After it was all mixed, I broke the blob into 5 smaller blobs! Then rolled them into balls and put them on a foil lined baking sheet.

They cooked for 30 minutes. At this time, I added them into the sauce. Very fancy stuff, Prego Garlic Mushroom and Onion. Hubbles enjoys his onions, so I diced 1/2 of a yellow onion and sautéed them before adding in the sauce. The meatballs cooked with the sauce for about 10 more minutes…until the pasta was done. Here's how it turned out:

I grated a wee bit more asiago cheese on top. I'm not sure if this is typical, but it was tasty and Hubbles approved! Not too bad for my first attempt.
