Products I Regret Buying

So in an attempt to spring clean my vanity, I thought I'd take products that were truly disappointing to me and share them! So here we go…

Covergirl Outlast 3 in 1 Foundation

This foundation has been touted as one of the best drugstore foundations. It is a long wearing full coverage foundation that has primer, foundation and concealer all in one bottle. Sadly, it was absolutely terrible on my skin. It just sat on top and felt so cakey and thick. If you have normal to oily skin, this could be wonderful for you. But if you're on the dry side, I would stay away from it.

Revlon Colorstay Aqua Mineral Makeup

Oye. My first mistake was thinking any form of powder foundation would work for me. Again, if you have dry skin, powders usually aren't the best choice for you. It was on sale in my drugstore and the 'Aqua' in the title lured me into thinking it could maybe work. Lesson learned!

L'Oreal Magic Nude Liquid Powder Bare Skin Perfecting Makeup

This was such a different product, I had to pick it up. Shaking the bottle, it sounds like water! And therefore, is extremely runny! There are 2 strikes to this product for me. 1- the lightest shade is still too dark for me (we fair gals can't win them all) and 2- the coverage is very light but every time I try to apply it, it looks streaky and unnatural. I know this works for some, but just not for me.

Olay Fresh Effects BB Cream

Oh yes, we've seen this one before. It smells great, but is orange and has sheer coverage. Meh.

Sonia Kashuk Undetectable Cream Bronzer in Warm Tan

Although the lighter of the two shades offered. It is still too dark for me. The formula though is smooth and wonderful and blends out like a dream. Just too dark, womp womp. I bought it because I heard this was the 'drugstore alternative' for the Soileil Tan de Chanel. Definitely want to make it to a Chanel counter to swatch that one!

NYC Smooth Skin Bronzing Face Powder in Sunny

A very very popular drugstore bronzer. I bought it for this reason…and as is a common theme with me, it is too dark and leans too orange against my skin.

Revlon Photoready Sculpting Blush Palette in 001 Pink Rose & 004 Berry Baie

Ok, Revlon, what are you doing? I picked these up 75% off at CVS. I'm just glad I didn't pay full price! These are so chalky and unpigmented. Definitely a no go.

Smashbox Photo Finish Foundation Primer Color Correcting Adjust

Ok, don't get me wrong, as a primer it's good. Not great, but good. But, I do not notice any sort of color correction happening. I have some redness on my cheeks that is always an uphill battle for me. I find that this appears the same as the original formula.

Maybelline Master Smoky by Eye Studio in Blue Blaze

Alright, another horrid product. This particular color, although when seeing it you think it would extremely pigmented, is not. Even building the product up is a chore. And then, when you've reached the desired intensity, you go to use the smudger at the other end, and it removes the product!! Another great, big oye vey!! Definitely a headache!

Makeup Forever 5 Camouflage Cream Palette in No. 2

This one is totally my fault. I meant to grab the No. 1 shade. Oops! As a result, I can only use one shade (2nd from the right) which as it has it, is great for my pimples! So I guess I don't regret that one spot?
