Stila's Kitten Dupe Alert!!

We've all heard of the ever popular Stila Kitten eyeshadow. It's pinky/champagne shimmer has stolen the hearts of many a make up junkie. However this is one makeup junkie who refused to give into the hype. Especially since it looks like something you could have numerous versions of in your collection. However, after a much unneeded (but highly successful) trip to Nordstrom Rack this weekend, I can now say I have my very own Stila Kitten. Although being the savvy (and lucky) shopper, I stumbled upon the Kitten Must Haves collection. Winner winner, chicken dinner!

For $14.97 I received:

- 0.035 oz Kitten eyeshadow (more than 1/3 of the normal $18 size),
- 0.095 oz Kitten all over shimmer duo (which I was eyeing in full size, 0.18oz, at Sephora for $22)
- Lip Glaze in Kitten (0.05 oz - full size is 0.08 oz)
- Silk Shimmer Luxe Gloss in Kitten (0.05 oz - full size is 0.11 oz)

Quite the awesome value, am I right? I just could not pass this one up!

Now here is where we start looking at those dupes! …
I have always heard and read that L'Oreal Infallible's eyeshadow in Iced Latte was a perfect dupe for Stila's Kitten. And what do you know, everywhere I go it seems to be sold out! Luckily, on a trip to Walgreens this weekend, I managed to snag the last one they had in stock (finally!). I made a mental note to swatch as soon as I got home…I'm considering it divine intervention that I picked the two up within 48 hours of each other.

Well, upon returning home, I was stunned to find that they were not similar at all!! Iced Latte is very much lighter. I mean, almost night and day by neutral standards! So I decided to hunt through my collection. And let me tell you, for a basic everyday neutral, it is quite difficult to match! Perhaps this is why it's so popular…hmmm. Here are the closest 3 I could find in my collection (with Iced Latte as well):

Top:Stila Kitten Bottom: L-R L'Oreal Iced Latte, L'Oreal Blinged & Brilliant, Urban Decay Sin, Lorac Lt. Bronze
By far, the best match is L'Oreal's Blinged and Brilliant! It is just uncanny! The photo does not do it justice. So save those pennies and make a trip to your nearest drugstore! I do have a post about the L'Oreal Infallible shadows here. The quality of these shadows is amazing. And for drugstore prices, what isn't there to love? A close second would be the Lorac's Lt. Bronze (mine is in the Lorac Pro palette).
